I'm Chris, the founder and engineer behind Wurk.Haus. I've spent my career in data architecture and engineering inside complex, regulated environments — the kind of places where a schema change goes through review boards and a mapping document is a deliverable.
The tooling there was always one of two extremes: lightweight web apps that couldn't do real DDL work, or enterprise modelers at $4K+ per seat with interfaces frozen in another decade. Wurk.Flow is the tool I wanted on every one of those engagements — and it's run as a focused, independent company: no venture pressure to grow in the wrong direction, and a direct line from the people using the product to the person shipping it.

Operating principles
The rules the product is built under.
Local-first
Local compute, local storage — in your browser or on your desktop. There is no app server to depend on: the modelling engines run on your device either way, so your work isn't hostage to someone else's uptime.
Transparent by default
No usage analytics, no tracking, no selling data. The desktop app makes three baseline outbound calls — license validation, click-only update checks, and scrubbed crash reports; the web studio makes one baseline call, the subscription check for a signed-in account. All documented publicly.
You own your work
Schemas, lineage maps, and project files are plain JSON — a file on your disk on desktop, and in the browser on web, downloadable as a .dsm any time. Cancel an annual desktop subscription and the version you bought keeps working, with everything your team built in it.
Offline-capable, honestly described
In the desktop app the core workflow — schema design, DDL, SQL against the embedded sandbox — runs without internet. We say "offline-capable," not "air-gapped," and we say it about the desktop app, because precision is what earns trust: the web studio needs a connection to load.
Your AI keys, your traffic
All bring-your-own-key: seven providers in the desktop app — OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Groq, Mistral, and Ollama for fully local inference — and OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Mistral, or local Ollama in the browser. AI calls never route through our infrastructure.
